hypha is a notes app that works entirely without cloud providers. Notes stay on the user's own device and synchronize end-to-end encrypted directly between devices – no account, no server, no third parties in between. A single passphrase is enough; optionally, a self-hosted relay server can be run.
Concept, interface design and the complete technical implementation come from a single source. The editor combines rich text with Markdown syntax and ships with organizational building blocks like notebooks, tags, color coding, daily notes and reminders. Links between notes are surfaced transparently through an integrated links panel.
Synchronization works peer-to-peer across macOS, iOS, Windows and Linux. hypha is currently in public beta and is distributed via miniml.
